Vision
A world where no mother or baby suffers or dies from preventable causes, and where women are empowered throughout their motherhood journey.
DAWN Mother Care
We started DAWN Mother-Baby Care purely out of the desire to make a difference.
We wondered why despite advances in medical care, most mothers and babies were still left out!
A world where no mother or baby suffers or dies from preventable causes, and where women are empowered throughout their motherhood journey.
To ensure every mother and baby in Uganda & Africa has access to compassionate, high-quality, and culturally respectful maternal healthcare.
To use technology, innovation, and available resources & empower mothers for true and holistic healthy lives
Uganda still faces alarmingly high maternal and infant mortality rates, especially in rural and underserved areas. The Uganda Demographic and Health Survey (2022) reports a maternal mortality ratio of 336 deaths per 100,000 live births and a neonatal mortality rate of 22 per 1,000—largely from preventable causes such as birth complications due to poor uptake of antenatal care, poor postpartum care, lack of early breastfeeding, and a severe shortage of providers, with only one midwife per 5,000 people.
DAWN Mother-baby care simply changed my life. I was lost, pessimistic and unable to see hope, for I had many children and was worried of getting started with family planning. They taught me and connected me to the services. I am happy now!
